strange communications - but happy end

I just finished an episode of strange and awkward communications with Finnair, however, in proper style.

The story started when my HEL-PEK leg was cancelled back in November 07 and was re-routed via CAN. My checked luggage did not make it to the AY CAN flight. It only arrived at PEK four days (96 hrs) later. Only on day three at PEK I was finally offered a compensation of upto EUR 100 for urgent replacements and told I was lucky as such generous compensation was only offered to C-Class pax. When the bag finally arrived at PEK they first insisted I had to travel to the airport to collect it. Finally, they delivered it to my hotel, but tried to charge my hotel for the transportation from the airport to my downtown hotel! Fortunately the concierge refused to pay.

Back at home in early December I submitted my compensation claim, which was even slightly below the EUR 100 limit, due to the cheapy PEK shopping. Nothing happend, no payment, no answer whatsoever.

Now in February 2008 my assistant called AY and asked about the whereabouts. They answered they lack my account details (not true, but I still resubmitted them).

Today a surprising receipt of payment from an individual with a Finnish first and family name and a residential address in a Zurich suburb. The amount coincides with my claim, but I wonder why the payment is in the name of an generous (?) individual and not by AY ...
