I solve that problem by drinking as much Lanson Cuvee and Pomerol as I can, sticking my noise cancelling headphones on, rocking out to Kylie and Classical, writing letters and reading.

That said, I have sat in 02K and 01F, so never noticed it before. The front of the 777 is so quiet, though. It's no wonder the sound of the air vent can be heard.
