EU/Schengen entry/exit stamp needs revision?

I've traveled many times to Europe pre-Schengen and post-Schengen.

Before, entry and exit stamps used to each of the countries used to be colorful, artistic, and very easy to see. It was a great to see your passport full of different stamps of various colors. Now, they all look the same and have this cold, bland look to it. Bluntly put, they suck.

In fact, half of the time the EU/Schengen stamps are stamped hard-dry making it very difficult to see in the passport (though the partial fault may lie in the US passport, which some genius decided to make the pages with a very dark hue to it). The last time I went to Germany, the entry stamp at FRA was so light that even I could not see the airplane, the entry arrow, or the name of the point of entry! When I inquired the official about this, he brushed me off as it didn’t matter as it was in the SIS computer anyway. Well, lo and behold the computer was down from my flight out of VIE so the immigration officer had to call over his supervisor to pen in the borders of the FRA entry stamp!

I think it is time that the EU entry/exit stamps that they put into your passport need a major update. How about a stamp that is more visible with thicker lines and borders, bolder fonts for letters, and something identifiable that is more characteristic of each nation (such as a colored flag of the entry/exit point nation), while still following a standardized configuration?

Am I the only one who feels this way? Or am I just ranting?

Who or where can I write to give my opinions on this?
