Last week we flew to Dusseldorf, via London and I made the big mistake of wearing the wrong shoes on the flight. Actually my world's best travel shoes, which I had bought in Austria eight years ago, had simply fallen apart right before my trip. I replaced them with a very comfy pair of Munros for the show I was attending in Germany, but I selected another pair of shoes for the flight. Very bad move.
I guess I wasn't thinking very well and forgot about the several miles I would have to walk through LHR. My feet must have swollen on the flight and by the time I got through LHR, I could feel the blisters starting on my toes.
We spent our first night at the Hilton in Cologne where I bougth a pair of Crocks in the train station. What a blessed relief they were for my poor old feet. I wore them all of the time when I wasn't actually on the show floor, where I wore my Munros, and I think they may now become my new best travel shoes. They were amazing easy to slip off and on through security and on the plane.
Now I just need to find a lady bug to decorate them.
