All immigration rules are in the cumbersome process of revision at present although there will not be absolutely comprehensive substantive changes, particularly for those who would use Iris. My point is simply that given existing resources Iris scan is a more longer-term priority for the Home Office, indeed it will be as part of the government's established plans on borders and border crossings. I agree the current machines have to go (feel the same about the hodgepodge of cheap/dodgy chip-n-pin terminals as well). Whether this will ever be a Home Office priority and, in the second example, a cultural reality is another question.
