sharing a roomette on an Alaska Award for Amtrak
I have an Alaska Airlines reward ticket for the coast Starlight that I'll be using after the route repopens. This was for roomette travel for one person. Amtrak sells the rooms on a total room basis (you pay once for the room whether one or two people are in it). I was wondering if anyone had any experience with having a second person buy a rail ticket (coach seat) and then staying in the roomette with the person with the award roomette ticket). I know Guest rewards tickets for roomettes are for two people but Alaska's award structure was oddly out of synch with this. I don't expect that the friend would get meals, though that would be nice, but I would invite someone to join me on the trip only if I thought they would have the bed to sleep in. Any experiences or information to share appreciated.
thanks
