SAN FRANCISCO INT'L AIRPORT (CBS 5) ― An Air New Zealand jet dubbed the "Pink Flight" took off from San Francisco International Airport late Tuesday, heading to the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in Sydney, Australia.

Festivities began at the gate, hours before the Boeing 777 began its 14-hour journey. Passengers paid $1,000 in economy and up to $5,500 for sleeper seats inside the cabin adorned in pink. This is Air New Zealand's first such flight from North America.
