The other day I was idly looking at "My Itineraries" on ual.com and saw that someone who used to work for me 3 years ago was ticketed on a paid ticket to travel within the US.

I called MP and explained that I hadn't booked this and that there was no apparent fraud involved, but that he/she had somehow bought a ticket and entered my MP number.

The United person said that if someone else posts miles to my account and they find out, they will block the account for a good long time while they investigate. This was not a threat but a helpful hint that I should avoid this if possible.

I spoke to the big on line travel site that booked the ticket and they verified my MP number with United. I asked that they send him/her a note telling him/her to use his/her own MP number and not mine.

Has anyone had this experience? He/she was not trying to take the miles out of my account, and there would be no benefit to using my MP number. It is weird though.
