There is also a Star Market across the street from Costco. (Towards the Harbor)

I went there over x-mas for 3 weeks with my family (myself and 3 others) and we visited Costco about 5 times. It was a great one, and enjoyed the free samples of poke! Lots of stuff is cheaper at Costco, and they do carry a wide variety of local items too. I lucked out with the New Years coupons at Costco and got $4 off each case of chocolate covered mac nuts. I ended up taking 4 cases (48 boxes) home! And sales tax is 4.166% so not too terrible.

However I developed a passion for the local ice-cream, especially Hapua (Coconut). The local stores alternated sales for $4 each each week, so check out the ads in the paper. Plus if you can get a hold of Kauai Beef - its a good taste, slightly gamy, but good.

Dang... now I want to go back! Have fun magiciansampras!
