Air France concerned about Alitalia's accounts (source : Thomson Financial)
Air France-KLM is concerned about Alitalia SpA's accounts and that the ailing Italian airline, which booked a pretax loss of 364 mln eur in 2007, could lose a legal dispute with Milan airport operator SEA, MF said in an unsourced report.
SEA is claiming 1.25 bln eur damages from Alitalia after the airline scaled back its operations at Malpensa airport.
The newspaper said these concerns are casting a shadow over the Franco-Dutch airline's determination to acquire Alitalia. Air France is in exclusive talks to buy the Italian government's 49.9 pct stake in the company.
Separately, Alitalia said supervisory board chairman Luigi Pacifico has resigned with immediate effect after the state national audit committee, of which he is a board member, did not authorise him to continue his job at Alitalia until the end of the mandate.
