Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Advance Purchase (199/nt) King Superior and upgraded to a King Junior Suite. When I requested 2 beds for the other party, was moved to the standard Suite with 2 double beds.

How are the rooms?
The suite was the usual offering; large by NY hotel standards. The furniture and carpet have seen better days and the bathroom was clearly in need of refurbishment. One of the metal pieces on the sink hardware was broken, exposing the underlying caulk, etc. Not too appealing. The beds were comfortable and the linens nice.

How is the exec. lounge? N/A

What was good/bad?
Good:
I noticed a vast improvement on the friendliness of the Ambassador staff, although there were moments when they shifted back to their old "automaton" mode. I got the impression that they have been given the customer service speech. Maybe the IC management read some of the previous reviews.

Welcome gift was a fruit plate and candied nuts.

They have added a third computer outside the business center and guests are able to print airline boarding passes without charge. This is a positive development.

Bad:
The hotel is in need of refurbishment, although there was some work going on with the hardwood floors in the hallways.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Yes. This is a decent value for RA's in NYC. Although, if I weren't getting the free minibar and suite upgrades, I'd definitely stay elsewhere.
