But, they're promoting the breakfast for Platinum members. Is your wife a Platinum member in the program?

I might add that they don't have to give you anything more than your published benefits and a welcome amenity, so this is above and beyond the call, IMHO. And now their generosity to you as the Platinum member is described as though it was no consideration at all?

So, to me, you seem to be saying don't make me this offer at all if you can't also give it to my wife. Where then does it stop? Will breakfast have to be provided for the entire family when they are there to make it not appear to be cheap on the part of the hotel when they are really offering something they don't have to in the first place?

I think you're right though. They need to reconsider this gift-giving above and beyond the T&C's. All it does is create problems...for you...and for other hotels by making them look cheap when they don't go this far.
