Having travelled through several hundred airports without any problem, my 120 ml contact lens solutions was stolen by BAA security today. I know they're only doing their job, but I have never previously had a problem, even going through the FCC at T4 with exactly the same flask a few days ago. I have tried to find solutions to this problem. The product I use only comes in 120 ml flasks, like most contact lens solutions. I have tried some other products in 40 ml flasks and even pouring solution into small sample bottles, but my eyes have never forgiven me when I have tried this. As I have said, the vast majority of airport security staff tolerate 120 ml contact lens flasks, but obviously Heathrow have suddenly decided no longer to do so.
As I pointed out to the security personnel, next time I will simply carry the flask on me, where they have no hope of finding it.
As this isn't strictly BA's fault, if the mods want to move this elsewhere, please feel free to do so.
