Airlines, including US, have to find new ways to increase revenue, and if this is one easy way, so be it. Since FFs are exempt, it would mostly impact those folks who fly US for price reasons.... it merely becomes another factor in their decision to choose flying US (or not).

Looks like the new policy would become the industry standard, like it or not. At least US did not pioneer this
