However, the reviews on Tripadvisor are variable stating problems with plumbing and elevators.
I just stayed there two weeks ago! I booked the ocean view top floor suite. Very big suite, but is all I can say for it.
Where to begin? First, there was no renovation. They changed the counter tops of the vanities. Elevators are , well, exciting, but a staff member told me that this is only since the seventies, after the property celebrated it's first century at this location. Large rooms, but old, threadbare. There was a sink, fridge and microwave.
Rude staff, huge turnover, expensive parking NOT INCLUDED across the street. No morning paper delivered, I was hassled for asking.
Location is good, about three hotels to the right of the old Fountainbleu, easy access to the boardwalk, and if you don't have a car, a ten minute walk over the bridge to easy shopping.
But the property is way overpriced.
They have a built in clientele, as this location is also in the heart of the orthodox jewish hotel area, so they never feel the need to strive for anything. (you say UK in your location, perhaps you know Golders Green in London?)
Bottom line, there is no real IC solution in Miami that is under $250. If you are going to spend that much, we switched to the DoubleTree in Ft. Lauderdale, and for about $275 stayed in what then felt like the Taj Mahal. (I spend over 75 nights ayear at IC properties, and I will no longer stay in one in Miami).
I'll be surprised to hear if anyone has a differing view of the property.
