Container Checking at Southampton Port
Sorry no link to this as it was on the radio, but Our Heroes in the DHS have installed radioactivity detectors to screen all containers heading for the US form Southampton in the UK.
Apparently they also have them in Honduras.
Now whilst this is a good idea can anyone answer the simple question of why Southampton - the last time I checked the UK was an island so it isn't as easy smuggling radioactive materials into the UK in order to ship them out again.
why aren't they installed at some of the major European container ports like Rotterdam which offer an easy land path
