This is true. But the policy also depends on hotel, even in Europe.
For some projects I run in Europe, when I stayed in some CP and HI, as I paid the bill for all the team (and as I stayed in the hotel for a long period), the hotels generally gave me the points for ALL the expenses ^^(but of course only one qualifying night per day)
When you garantee more than 10 stays a day in a hotel for more than 3 months, everything is negociable!!
