My experience in Düsseldorf is they do not ask for it or care much about it. Only in Amsterdam and then it is only the security people who let you skip the long line for their interrogation before you board.
(For any of you who haven't flown from Amsterdam, every passenger on a US flag carrier is basically interrogated before you board - creates a very long line, thank god elites get put to the front of it)
