Also nicer and VERY close is Somerset on hte Pier (I have stayed here and their 2 room apartments are wonderful). If money is no object try 2 rooms at the Henry Jones Art Hotel which is literally on the waterfront. Also if money is no object and you dont mind walking a bit, The Islington in Davey Street has a great reputation.
Hope this helps....What brings you to my home town?

Coming as part of 4 week holiday. Plan to spend 4 nights in Hobart, 2 nights in Freycinet lodge, 1 night Cradle Mountain, 1 night Launceston and then fly to Sydney. Also visiting Port Douglas, Melbourne and Adelaide.
Going back to possible apartments is Lenna of Hobart worth considering? For same price as 2 harbour rooms in Grand Chancellor could get into one of their 2 bedroom penthouse flats. But it may be a bit further away from waterfront area. Will look into Zero Davey. There are rooms in Henry Jones but for additional £200 pp (about 400 ASD) for the 4 nights.
