Hi everyone,
So, I guess that the best option is to go F on United. It is just very frustrating to have everything set and booked 3/4 of year in advance and then not have them honor the original award ticket when they make the change. However, i guess that is part of the game.... Even leaving Lisbon at 6:20AM which is the first flight of the day we can't make the LH connection. Thanks for everyones' advice!

If you still have 9 months before you travel, chances are great that *something* will open. I mean, if you're really interested in experiencing the FCT at FRA, you can look at all options with F from FRA to the U.S.: FRA-BOS, FRA-JFK, FRA-ORD, FRA-SFO, FRA-MIA, and FRA-DTW.
I would say a connection would be worth the F experience on LH over UA, but I wouldn't spend a night at the FRA Sheraton for it.
