I had a similar thing happen to me. Booked two LH F awards and LH changed the equipment to two class.

I waited until about two days before travel and LH opened up two F seats on a different route.

Keep you eye on ANA's award tool when you get close.

UA will have to go to bat for your to protect your F seats, but it should work out.
