So I decided to reserve for one night, the 7 other nights have been booked at the - very nice - IC Chicago (I got a superb corner suite in the historic building).
To be honnest, when I saw the building and location (very close to the loop, so very noisy) of the CP Chicago, I really did not regret not to have satyed in this hotel!!
Actually, the Silverton was a very nice property. While in the Loop District and in a classic old Chicago building from the 20s, it has been fully restored and has a very loft-like environment. I quite enjoyed my stay there, and didn't notice much noise from the "L" since the window glazing was first rate. At the time, it was still a CP but even on an award stay, I was upgraded to the top floor club level and received a very nice suite. In the evening there was a very nice dessert reception in the lobby, gratis.
Both Chicago CPs, the Allerton just up from the IC on Michigan, have now left the ICH fold. I booked the Allerton a couple of years ago for a friend who was going to Chicago for a conference and since the booking was under my name and hers, as a Plat she -- well I -- received an exquisite suite. She really enjoyed the hotel and its ambiance.
