Just out of curiosity, I understand that during the winter months, ORD-HKG and LAX/SFO/ SYD sometimes make a fuel stop because of the winds. Where do they usually refuel? I would guess ORD-HKG would stop in ANC and for SYD, the flight would stop in Fiji or HNL. Has anyone ever been on one of these flights? I assume you just sit on the plane. How long does it take?
