Pan Am sold their London LHR routes to United at that time. For a while you could choose whether to have miles on Pan Am credited UA or Pan Am. As soon as I reached Platinum on Pan Am I started sending them to Mileage Plus.
I made two Europe trips on Delta after the sale. They were on the ex-Pan Am A310s and most of the personnel were Pan Am. The service was already reduced. Since I already had status and RCC membership on UA those were the last Delta flights I made except for one to Bermuda to use up my miles. I had used up most of the Pan Am miles on two first class tickets to Hawaii.
