FYI...anytime I go anywhere in Alaska, I have always used miles, particularly to places like Nome or Barrow...and although you might have to book months in-advance, I've been able to find saver availablility during the summer months...even went to Ketichikan and Juneau last Labor Day weekend with no problem getting seats. Other than maybe ANC, Alaska is like Montana and Wyoming...if you want to fly there, the cost per mile is gonna be steep so if you have the miles, use them....$200 for a 2 hour flight from SEA-LAX is fine, but $600 for a 2 hour flight from SEA-SIT is pushing it when you look at cpm.
