Totally OT but I'm hoping the mods will let it run for a day!

Asprey is having its annual clearance sale at the Science Museum (2nd floor). The ads in the FT and Standard say 'up to 75% off'. This is a lie. EVERYTHING is 90% off, except for the jewellery which is 75% off.

I have just come back with a £1,200 coat, 6 x £55 crystal ice cream cups, an £80 tie, a £70 notebook, 2 x £25 notebooks, 2 x £60 vases and a £195 teapot, total bill £188. (Yes, I know that's actually less than 10% but they rang up the ice cream glasses wrong!)

Loads of coats and trenchcoats, lots of china, huge amounts of ties and leathergoods, some shoes, some handbags, some sunglasses, some mens fashion but mainly womens, some luggage but not loads. There are quite a few £4,500 ostrich handbags for £450 if you're keen, and a fair bit of crocodile wallets etc (not my thing ...). Quite weak on mens cashmere and briefcases etc, which is what I stocked up on last year when it was "only" 75% off.

Well worth a look if you're passing by. It is not very busy but because they insist on wrapping everything to Bond Street standards it will literally take you an hour to pay.
