Hotel no longer a Holiday Inn

I booked a stay at a Holiday Inn near Disney back in November. The stay was for 7 nights in January. (I was having a Disney gathering for my 40th birthday and had 3 of my friends also booked at the property). I arrived at the hotel to check in (at 4am due to horrible flight delays) and was informed 2 days prior to my arrival they had stopped being a Holiday Inn property (although all of the signage, etc still said Holiday Inn during my entire stay).

They told me they would still honor my rate and reservation, but I would not receive any Priority Club Points. I am very upset this happened. Why didn't I get notification from IHG? They had to have known this was happening. I chose to stay at this hotel because it was an IHG property. They could have called or emailed me and offered to move me to another IHG property. I want credit for my 7 night stay! That is a lot of points!

Any thoughts?
