Maybe you can prove me wrong, but I don't see AC doing that for you. I'm trying to picture walking up to a ticket or ckin counter at an airport and asking the person if they have a spare seat on the cheap. I think you will have to buy yourself a ticket. Anything available through Aeroplan?
