Air New Zealand is withholding about $145,000 a month in increased landing fees from Wellington and Auckland airports, with the total approaching $1 million.

Both airports last year began increasing their landing fees to pay for new terminals and runway improvements, the first of five increases over five years.

Air New Zealand has rejected the increases and has applied for a High Court review to consider the airports' processes for setting charges....
