My last company provided me with an AWD code which I used to set up my own Wizard number, but it wasn't directly linked to billing -- I'd pay the bill on my personal credit card and get reimbursed. Though I haven't been at that company for going on two years now, I still have my same Wizard number and AWD code associated with my account and use it when I rent (something decent like a 10-20% discount). It's never been a problem.

Not the same situation as your own, but hopefully this is a helpful data point anyway.
