Any problems with using the power cord extender for my macbook?

Ok so this thread will sound like someone who has no experience with technology, but I've tried to use the most descriptive words I can think of, because I don't know the terms...anyways, I've had my macbook for around 5 months now. Obviously it came with the power plug, mag-attacher running to the big block with the apple on it, which then plugs into the wall. Also Included was the power plug extender, which you can remove the one (non-grounded) plug from the block, and slip into the spot. This makes the power plug longer, and it is grounded. This is obviously helpful when traveling, in the lounge or at the airport, hotels, etc.

My question is, is there any harm that can come from using the extender? Obviously, if theres an un-grounded outlet, then I would need to switch it out, but otherwise....

PS-I tried seraching, but no luck, at least for me.
