5D has no built-in in flash. As an amateur, that's a deal killer for me. I'm carrying enough crap as it is, a speedlite is just too much.
The flash on my 40D is totally useless anyways. Can't use it with the two lenses I use most often. And a direct flash is so harsh that I won't use it with my other lenses either.
I wish the 40D doesn't have a flash, save a few grams and a few dollars.
