The problem with sandwiches is an airconditioned environment is that the bread will dry and curl within an hour unless they are covered. Shouldn't be a issue in the main Terraces lounges at LHR where the vultures pounce quickly but in less busy lounges you'll notice the problem. They are not actually stale, and the fillings should be fine, but they are pretty unappetising.
