In HK, there are legitimate goods and parallel imports, aka grey market goods, water goods, etc.

Legitimate goods are those that were imported by the manufacturers or authorized agents, and backed with service and support. The chain electronics stores--Fortress, Broadway, Gome, Wilson--rarely deviate from the MSRP on legitimate goods. They usually bundle free accessories for the products that have been on the market for a while. Still, the deals are not as good as one could get in US.

Parallel imports can be a source of cheap and interesting products. However, the old adage buyers beware applies here more than ever. Transactions with HK stores are usually final. You can't return for refunds. There is no post-sale service and support for these products. If it breaks, you are SOL.
