Catering in Y is so-so with IB, reasonable with AA. Food/Soft drinks is free with both, grog costs $$ with AA, it's free with IB.

Emerald gets you nowhere with IB seat assignment. Ask your ticket issuer airline to request a seat for you from IB; with paid tickets it works most times.
