I know it says~
I know it says "trains, planes and automobiles" (like the movie) in my signature, but enough with the train talk already.
Anyway, most of you will think I am totally nuts for doing this:
I fly in and out of Orlando (MCO) a lot so more often than not the airlines split families up. So, in order to accomodate the families, I often give up my seat so they can sit together. Case in point, I flew from MCO to MSP today and gave up my aisle seat for a middle seat (on a 3 hour flight in Y) so that a family could sit together (of course the lady said "bless you & I will say an extra prayer for you". Hey, if it was my family, I would have hoped someone would have done the same for me.
Speaking of middle seats. I was flying from LAX to ATL last year and was sitting in a middle seat trying to watch "THE ISLAND" on a re-configured ex-SONG Delta 757. A lady to my left on the window seat started talking to the guy on my right (aisle), whom she had just met. I offered to trade seats with either one of them but neither wanted to give up their window nor aisle seat. During the ENTIRE flight they would NOT shut up!!! I cranked up my head set to full volume and I still could hear them talk to each other with me in the middle.
Of course, I did not want to instigate and said nothing but I swear, there are times I fly when I think some people skipped kindergarten and elementary school. They teach you to say "thank you, sorry and please" at that age and it disturbes me to think that these people are so jurassic (= old) that they forgot their manner and checked it with the skycap.
Now I understand why most FFs to and from MCO take zanex, ambien & drink heavily.
Safe travels to all and I DO hope people learn a thing of two from this thread and PLEASE try not to make the same mistakes.
*BTW, those who do NOT like or refuse to fly coach? It is a privilege, NOT a right to fly first class. A lot of people can't afford to fly first class and that does NOT make them lesser people than you. As far as I am concerned, NO human being should be treated differently on airplanes than they do on rental car buses or Jet Blue/Southwest . If you DO fly first class (as I often do thanx to upgrades), try to HAVE class and don't be so OBNOXIOUS about it. It is always those one or two individuals that make us look bad by being snooty and "all that".
Thank you!
