I wonder what these Japanese Language Proficency rules have in store for the student population.
I know that a lot of the students at my school here in Nagasaki came here without speaking a single word of Japanese and probably only just about knew hiragana and katakana. They were basically over from America on a semester abroad.
Are these types of students going to be discouraged ? Also for people like me who are studying Japanese formally are we going to be forced in to taking the JLPT as a means of getting a visa. eg "No Year abroad visa unless you passed 3kyu" ?.
