KLM WBC or B.A Club??
I've been a loyal KLM flyer for many years. Recently I was wading through some of the B.A bumpf and I found some interesting information on booking flights, outside of Britain. Most of the FT veterans probably probably know about this stuff already, but I was quite shocked when I saw it for my own eyes.
I want to fly biz class from EDI (via somewhere) to SFO in DEC this year. KLM was my first choice. Holiday fare £1800. But If I use some FB miles and fly to AMS (RTN), stay over night and fly out the next day with B.A (AMS-LHR-SFO) I can get CLUB for almost the same price. Ok so I spend some money on the taxes for the KLM flight to AMS, and overnight accomodation, but I still think its a bargain. Over the last year or so, lots of people seem to be very unhappy with KLM (Crap seats, weird new meals, too many seats in WBC etc etc) and It made me think...If I could get biz class with BA (which seems to be a better product) maybe the extra hassle is worth it. What do you think?
