Alternatively you might consider a bmi award NRT-AKL-PPT vv which is 37.5k + £255, i.e. only 15k + £105 extra (and the 15k cost £180 so say £300 extra).
CAI-NRT in F is £2600 so you save £600 net and get to go to NRT, but ofcourse there's not as much F travel.
