No, I'm guessing this forum's newest Evangelist meant Aeroplan when he used the AE abbreviation. I would call Aeroplan Mon. a.m. and talk the matter over with them rather than waiting until airport check in.

Although you didn't mentioned the routing, I gather it's international as you mentioned how your name appears on your passport and while the difference could lead to some additional questions IMHO it shouldn't be enough to ground you. It is, however, a good lesson to always make sure your passport and ticket are identical to head off any potential issues while travelling.
