We did end up with 3 seats thru SFO and 3 thru LAX departing 15 minutes apart and I'd imagine arriving within the hour of each other. There were 4 seats on the HNL flights but that would still leave us without two, with an extra layover and having to pay for interisland, but it was a good thought.

When you check in at DEN (and again at OGG on your return ask the CSR if he/she will put you all on the identical trip -- I bet you'll all end up together (although perhaps not with good seating).
