Acetone can damage the coating on your optics! The only acetone that is really proven to clean lenses and not be harmful to your optics is 100% medical acetone, which is more expensive an harder to get your hands on easily than the cleaning solutions I posted above.

I make and test optics for a living. We use Acetone. I'm unaware of any decent optical camera lens coating that would be damaged by Acetone or for that matter IsoPropanol. YMMV.
I've no idea what 100% medical acetone is, just get Acetone from a chemical supply company.
