This has happened quite a few FT members on Hilton as well but mainly when Diamond "special" arrangement award stays they have been rewarded points for the amount HHonors had paid for the rooms (sometimes in excess or 400 euros per day). Sometimes they catch these sometimes they don't.

IMHO OP has nothing to complain about that the correct amount of points were deducted from his/her account. I do agree, however, that it would have been appropriate for PC to send a letter about the action taken.
