I don't appreciate your holier-than-thou tone. The posts in this thread have developed into a criticism of Filipinos and their culture-- I was simply responding to the stereotyping and to the negativity it's engendering. Your point that lunch break is sacrosanct in many places, not just the Philippines, certainly washes the discussion of potential racism. However, you're the first to point this out-- prior to your post, it wasn't at all evident that some commenters realized that it's not an exclusive Filipino problem.
Lighten up? That's very patronizing. My statement, that there's no need for racism in this discussion, is a valid point. I didn't accuse anyone specifically, and I was careful to divert the discussion towards more rational explanations.
