Now where to get the plane? Perhaps when the 777 goes on HKG it might work as the 777-300 is often used flying the Nonstop to YYZ...

Clipper you might get your 777 faster from YVR-HKG
CX has recently increased its YYZ/HKG frequency to 10 flights per week. I assumed that CX has done sufficient market research to justify the increased frequency. At least CX has more common sense than AC to give travellers a true choice of departure time, either a daily morning non-stop or an evening one-stop 3 times a week.

AC still operates 2 daily YYZ to HKG flights but they leave within half an hour of each other in the morning. One is a non-stop and the other one connects at YVR to AC7. This is not giving travellers any real choice of departure time.

You may be thinking of the AC011 that departed YYZ in the evening at about 9:30PM for HKG with a stopover in YVR with no change in flight no. On the return flight AC008 departed HKG at about 8:15PM in the evening to YYZ with a stopover in YVR, also no change in flight no.

No, it doesn’t. CX has switched its non-stop service to a morning departure from YYZ arriving HKG around noon, local time.
