I strongly believe that the real reason for the cancellations has been very low bookings. Some of the B74Es that have actually operated have flown to PVG with around 50 passengers only. However, airlines are not allowed, by IATA, to cancel flights because of low loads, so the official reason for all of these China cancellations, as well as a couple Korea services, has been "lack of equipment." Supporting my position that this was obviously not the case is the fact that on every single day of the past 2 weeks, there have been 5, 6 or 7 spare B747s sitting at Schiphol, wheras only 2 of them have been in maintenance at one time.
