My baby is almost 4 months now, and I flew twice in January with him at only 2 months old. He's pretty easy going, but he does have his moments!!

We got him a seat on the way there. He slept the whole time and didn't even need to feed. Coming back, we did the lap infant thing and flew first class. He handled it very well. Although I cannot say that the Delta FA's helped one bit with my jacket or anything. Oh well. I wouldn't hesitate to fly first class with the baby again.

We're going to China for the Olympics in Aug and he'll be 9 months old. We MAY buy him a seat, may not. I agree with lot of others here - depends on your confidence flying with baby, and depends on your baby's temperment. If you just go wth the flow and fly, I think baby will get used to being a traveler. As considerate as I would like to be to others, I realized on my last trip that baby was the most important, not appeasing other travelers. Of course it made it very easy for me that my baby is very happy all the time and didn't really have any fits, even sitting on the tarmack for 3 hours before take off waiting for us to get our wings deiced out of Atlanta!

Good luck to you!
