Thanks for the suggestion, but I did try that. The manager said that while they normally placed SUV's in the Executive Isle, during the snow times it was policy to charge a premium for them. He took a hard stance on the fact that even though the SUV was in the Isle I should have taken a smaller car from the Isle if I didn't want to pay the premium. He pointed out that the guard told me I could have taken the car back and switched out to avoid the premium charge. At about 3:00AM it was too much of a hassel to do that, and the car is a company expense anyway, but it is the principle.
I feel like it was almost like a bait and switch situation since the policy is to take any car in the Executive Isle if you are an Executive status. If they load the Isle with cars they want a premium for, that is wrong.
The attitude of both the branch manager and customer survice has really turned me off and since this event which happened almost a year ago, I have switched back to Avis. I have my issues with them as well, but they are actually about 20% cheaper and while I don't get to choose the car, they give me Lincoln town cars, and SUV's for my normal corp. rate. I will continue to use them until they pull some bone head move like National and then I will go back to Hertz
