1. There are less first class seats in general on all flights. Many domestic flights do not have a first class cabin.
2. Award seat availability is worse. It is harder to find seats.
3. Limits on the number of seats available on domestic travel for upgrades using miles. In the past if there was a seat and you were willing to use miles, you could have it.
