But I have to admit there was a lot I really liked about the place - the music, the style, the warmth, the scenery, etc.

No, it hasn't. I have completely desisted about sending any goods to my family in Argentina by post. Even xmas/birthday cards have been lost, opened, ripped-off, you name it.
